2 in desert ironwood.
Finished these 2. Some of the best iron wood I have seen, I cut both pieces out of the same block but they have very different grain. One is burl and the other highly figured. 70 layer Damascus on the one and 1084 on the other.

Those look very, very nice to me Ricky! I hope you were careful working that ironwood - used a respirator and wore long sleeves to keep the dust off your skin. Several types of wood like ironwood, rosewood, cocobolo and many tropical woods have very toxic dust...

Yes Ray, I use a respirator and long sleeves. That's the only down side to desert ironwood Imo, is that the dust is very irritating. I thought it was interesting how different the two sets of scales look. The block I cut them from was about 6 inches square and had a little of everything in it. I got two real nice blocks for hidden tangs from the same block.

I've never liked the loveless bolts as the thread gap has always annoyed my OCD side, but still some dam nice knives.

if done at the right time , you can peen them slightly , easier with brass (softer) and get rid of the annoying halo's

Very nice Ricky. I have to commend you on the sheaths too. They are very nicely done.

Never thought about that, though I think I still prefer my mosaic pins they always add a little extra something to the overall look

Yup I agree JD but for good hard users Loveless are tough to beat for durability I found , not the prettiest for sure but rock solid

Wow beautiful knives as usual. And whoops I guess I should start using a respirator when I'm working with those exotic woods, I didn't know the dust was toxic.

Nicely done. I love that wood - toxic or not. I've never worked with it but I think I'm going to look for some. Beautiful leather work! Do you do your own? i like the two straps around the front - is that how they attach to your belt? I'd love to see the back of one...
