Can anyone identify this knife and who made it

Spied it at a pawn shop. It looks well made. I think the handle is real stag. $11.49 is what I paid, tax inc, for it! 4.5 inch blade and the knife weighs over 9 oz (yes a bit heavy.)

On the left side of the blade is 7SPG (I think) and on the right WHITT.

Here are a few photos. THANKS!!

The Whitt part is right but,

That looks like F SPG, that is an F, 7 goes the other way. The handle has a heavy brass guard and Hilt so I'd guess the stag is real, but can't identify the type of stag. I'd guess elk.

Thanks. Maybe it's a local knife maker. I'm going to clean it up and see if I can find a sheath for it, or have one made. My S&W 629-1 has stag grips.. would be nice to see 'em together.

My hogleg with a Blackjack knife (also pawnshop find). 1st model Blackjack.. Effingham Illinois!)

I've been to the Blackjack store in front of the plant. Bought a nice small knife, guess you'd call it a utility knife.
