Advice wanted please
Ok. I am partial way on this silver sheath. I took the Books of Brands Register from the state of Arkansas and put them little bullies on the sheath except for the Red River D brand. This is as they were in the book. I want to make them stand out well. Would the best way to do this be to do it in the basic fashion as bulino as do the dots heavy near the brand then fade out or would it be best to "shade" it up to the brand with straight line cuts. I sure need some direction here on this. The handle is formed of silver also and will be done the same way. Where the cuts are that "forms the throat and tip" I will double cut those lines then curve lines so it will look like a rope.

Jerry that is probably the way that it will look best just as you described using the bulino and then fade them out. Using this technique will add more depth to the piece around each image over the straight cuts, and it will give it a more finished look.

That's what I'd do but there is a danger of it looking very blobby as there are so many brands. How about cutting the inside of the brands for black instead of just an outline?

Marcus, helloooo. Man, why did I not think of that. crap. Yes, that is what I will do. Much simpler and it will make it stand out fine. I like that. Thanks.
