Mask.

What kind of mask does everyone use while grinding? I have been using a regular dust mask but it fogs up mysafety glasses.

A dust mask isn't good enough. You want a two-cartridge half face mask with dust filters over the cartridges - at a minimum. These masks are made by AO Safety and 3M and others and usually cost in the $25 range. There are many type of cartridge filters for different purposes so read the instructions and pick one. I think most of us use organic vapor cartridges....

I have a North full face mask that I wear over regular glasses. Can't protect the eyes any better than that plus the glasses aren't fogged up.

You can try getting some anti-fog wipes to prevent your glasses from fogging up. Hospitals use it. If I were trying to find some I would look at an optical shop or go online.

I'm with ray, that is what I use. Also since they completely seal your mouth and nose, there is no way to fog up your glasses. Well unless you just get that worked up grinding.

Well my wife thinks I do. I get that roll of the eyes every time I run in the house to show her a knife design or my new handle material. But hey she's the only one here.

As a safety professional I cannot stress enough on the part of reading the instructions that come with your respirator, or any tool for that matter. Do note that they will tell you when it is time to change your filters. I have seen people get light headed from dirty and clogged filters that were difficult to draw a breath through. If you really want to go and do it correctly you should have a medical professional give you a breathing test to see if you have the lung power to draw through a respirator. Also you should have no facial hair, and clean shaven. I know this is what no one wants to hear, however, if you are not using your respirator correctly you may very well be worse off than not using one. I know when I wear one I will go into an environment that is dangerous and if I were not wearing it correctly it will cause me harm. Be safe!
