Unique handle material - dagger
This is the first time I have seen anyone on these forums post a knife with this handle material. The knife itself is my attempt at a Riverside Dagger by Mr Loveless. The knife is 10" long over all and made of 440C, The tang is tapered and the guard is 416. I have a sheath that is currently drying and I will post pictures of that later.
Oh, yes, the handle material. I have relatives that are Inuit and as such they have access to some very unique material. A while ago they sent me a bag full of baleen. Sort of whales tooth and fingernail all rolled into one. I stabilized it and used it on this knife. It is absolutely wonderful to work with and the depth and sheen on the black is incredible. That is one knife I would love to get my hands on. The pics look great Steve. You guys that have not had the pleasure to feel or own a Vanderkolff knife I urge you to do just that. First class goods. kevin
