Unhappy 50th Commemorative Fake Auction on eBay!

Hi all,

Please watch out for this latest auction scam on eBay. Item #260044920852

The most fraudulent thing is the fact that the seller does not possess the knife, which in itself is entirely legitimate and highly desirable.

The "seller" has zero feedback and is located in Dundee, the United Kingdom, the home of many Randall eBay scam artists.

Also the bidders' identities will be kept private in an attempt to prevent them from being alerted to the scam.

There may be other things to tip off potential bidders, such as the relatively low starting bid and the lack of a reserve.

Here's the legitimate auction of the great knife which ended at the beginning of August:

I have already reported this fraud to eBay.

Cheers!

David

It's toast!

Well eBay shut down this scam in jig time!

If any of you folks are not sure how one can report a suspected fraud, just follow these steps:

One has to be a registered Ebay user.

- Near the bottom of any listed auction page, there a "Report this item" link button.

- This leads one to select a subtopic. In Step 1, select "Fraudulent listings"

- In Step 2, select "You suspect that a listing is fraudulent but you didn't bid"

- Step 3 Press CONTINUE

- Then press "Email us"

- Then type in your concern and send it off to eBay.

At least you will know you tried.

Cheers!

David

Another scam

I don't think this one lacks a single clue that a crook's loose. Where's Rob when you need him to do his job?
