Camp Hawk

Well this puppy has cut me 3 times already probably to sharp, it shaves
finished up last night for this weekends outting

Super heavy antiqued (so you don't worry about using it), 2 inch edge, 4 3/4 wide head, 12 inches over all, ash handle
I wanted it to be really small and easy to carry but still have enough weight to be useful

thanx for looking

Rik

Real nice. How'd you antique it?

Also, how about a pict of the whole thing, handle included.

How will it be carried? Does it have a sheath?

Nat.

Talking Sweet

I totally agree, that is one sweet hawk. I would like to see a full photo with all the accessories. Keep up the good work and remember to hit it while it's hot!

Very nice Rick, thanks for showing.

Would you care describing your aging technique? Looks great and I wonder how would it work on 5160.

Thanks!

thanx everyone!

Thanx Everyone!

Sorry for delayed response, I just got back from Seattle then went on desert camping/hiking trip with my son.

here's an overall pic with sheath

my wife holding it

I tried a bunch of things to do the antiquing. First I forged it with my textured hammer, then I used a japanese wood file, looks kinda like a hacksaw blades, then I hammered sand on/into it. I also etched it different times. I really wanted to make it looked "dug up"

BTW: I had a great time photoing Rock paintings on my trip, heres a pic of one

Very nice, Rik. I have yet to see anything from you that I didn't like.

Rik, Looking good! It don't look like it came from a ball peen hammer. What did you use for the head?
