A couple for Mark Terrell knives
I finished these up recently for Mark's knives, namely the great big "Crowd Pleaser" model. The black one has a black Shark Skin Inlay and the other is just a tooling pattern. They are both fully lined and set up for vertical carry, although this design is also available in right or left angle cross draw.

Paul,
your work is absolutly amazing!!!!!!!!! Both sheaths are very very nice looking. What brand of basketweave stamp is on the brown sheath if you don't mind me asking?? I realy like the little twist in it. On the black one up towards the top of the belt loop how are the diamond shapes don?? Are They a stamp or is it something you just done. Thanks, Shane |

The little basket stamp is made by Wayne Jueschke of Elko, Idaho. It is his basketweave #1, and sells for about $65. His phone number is 775 738 4885. The diamond quilt pattern on the top of the black sheath is carved in with a swivel knife, and then beveled and then trim stamped around the edges.

Credit given, where credit is due!!!
This posting, although referring to Paul, but directed to all forumites, is a testimonial to his skills with stamps. I have been around for donkey's years, have seen it all---or so it seems. Never--and I mean never---have I seen the precision, displayed by Paul, that he shows so beautiffully in his use of the small (make that real small) basket weave and border stamps. I could not even attempt to duplicate his work in the best years that I have had. For that reason, if for no other, I much prefer his stamping to the inlays he does with few, if any, peers! If this posting might embarrass Paul, well, it is a cross he has to bear!
For those that may not know, the difficulty in the use of small stamps over large stamps is darn near astronomical. If doubt exists in your mind---try it!!! Lots of luck!! ---Sandy--- __________________ Martin (Sandy) Morrissey Master Leather Craftsman 1105 Stephens Road Blairsville, GA 30512 706-379-1621 Last edited by Sandy Morrissey; 08-06-2008 at 03:39 PM. |
