There's about two hours of info there. It covers building basic forge bodies, simple venturi burners, forced air burners, how to select a blower with examples, how to build a blower, how to build a gate valve, and then you get to see several different forges actually running and tested with a pyrometer including the forges I built for the video plus a couple I already had. There is information shown on where to buy the materials (which we talk about all the time here in the forum) and also pointers to relevant pages on my website for those that might have an easier time reading at their own speed rather than watching the video. The dvd will play on a PC or on your TV through a DVD player and it has menus. It isn't quite up to Hollywood standards but for a first effort I think it came out pretty darned good, considering that I did all the filming, editing, encoding, authoring, etc by myself. Anyway, well worth the $12 (shipping included) that I'm asking for it. I'll sell it through my website, probably eBay, and I think there's a forum for that sort of thing on KNET too. All of the material is finished and edited and most of it has been processed but I still have to encode the last 46 minutes of it and that will take up to 15 hours of dedicated computer time so I'm waiting for the thunderstorms to stop so as not to risk a power failure. I think Monday will do it....

Nate's Pine Cone Recurve
Nate was having some trouble uploading this picture so I did it for him. This is his big recurve with redwood pine cone scales. I got the scales from Ankrom Exotics and Nate traded them away from me....

Here's my top secret project. 6 1/2" blade (11 1/2" total) Forged from 15n20/1095 to 72 layers then twisted into a waterfall pattern. The guard and pommel pieces are 19th century wrought iron. The handle is stabilized wooly mammoth tooth.
Not sure I will make the chat tonight. |

Troy,
I'm not familiar with that brand but its bi-metal so it should be decent. I see it is 24 tpi though, that would be fine for cutting thin sheet metals but for blade stock 14 to 18 tpi would be better ... |

Austin, that is not the Koa wood I sent you, is it? Doesn't look Koa. Like that damascus latter pattern and knife is great overall! Good job!
James, I really like that latest knife, the lines are very nice, and that snakewood looks great. Looks like a knife I would have wanted to use and carry in the Marines. Great job again!
