alvs???
Hey guys anyone ever used any ALVS (Acrylic laminated veneer sheet)? So I got a piece it has a thin green backing and a sheet of green aboloney shell then then the clear layer on top...NOT to be confused with multiple layers of shell without the clear layer. So the problem I am having is it is hard to work with. First when I put it on the grinder it melted a little. So I got past that and tried to buff and it does a similar thing as being on the grinder just on a smaller scale it leaves a "gunky surface" the only way I have found around it is by hand sanding. But even going up very high in grit it still leaves it cloudy and not perfectly clear. I again tried the buff doing VERY quick passes and it did shine it but again to a lesser extent left this "gunk" on parts of it. I have gotten it to a point where it looks good 3 feeet away but if you look close you can see this messy gunk in some spots. If anyone has worked with this stuff or anything similar or even if any one has any ideas I may have over looked I would really appreciate any help. If I could get this stuff dead clear like it was when I got it it looks great its really a beautiful material that's the only reason I haven't given up on it yet
