Here's another. Forged from 7/8 cable, squared then cut and folded on itself then forged to shape. The handle is black&white ebony with wrought guard.

Here is a picture of the samatar profiled blade and scales that I found at a flea market for $8.00. The OAL is 33" and the BL is aprox. 20". Scales are unstabilized walnut (I think). The width at the largest point is 7". It is 2.5 mm thick.

I have no idea of the steel, except I think it's stainless as there are no spots or rust. It sparks a long spark when hit on a grinder.

Been working on a custom caper for a local deer hunter who does a lot of taxidermy. But he hasn't found a production knife that holds an edge and that won't cut through skin due to most being pointy.

So I ordered a 2" contact wheel from KMG and came up with the following blade in 1080, blade designed off a Knives Of Alaska Muskrat format but with a different full tang that is sized for bigger hands and/or gloved. Unfortunately I ground it too thin and it warped on the top edge while attempting to normalize it. But I have 2 more blanks and will attempt the next grind post heat treat. The blade is only 3/4" wide and will be sharpened on both edges and the round nose. It is a bitch to grind by the way. Thanks for looking.

Boy that does look like a pita to grind! You will be way better off grinding post HT! Just make sure ya drill your pin holes first!
