The Grind Line knife should be complete, your best work. Use the template on the other knife ...

Looks like that knife is coming along pretty well but I'd like to see the grind carried about 2/3rds up the blade. BTW, did you know the handle was green?

I'm trying to get a couple of knives ready for Christmas sale. I doubt that will leave me with enough time to make a knife for the KITH but I might come up with something at the last minute ...

Green? You must be color blind it is Ebony. Here is the rest of the pics. It is done except for sharpening and sheath. Had to touch up blade because of rust spot and sanded partly thru my makers mark and now it doesn't look as good as it did.

Oh yeah, green ebony - I've heard of that. Now all that's left is to sharpen your sheath and you're done.

Next time though, let's try to get those grind lines higher up the blade. I know you had to do some late sanding to remove a rust spot and that's always trouble but work on finding ways to keep the lines sharp and clean. It isn't easy but it can be done even after the handle is attached. Finally, if you always mark the blade as the very last step you never have to worry about sanding off part of the mark...

I saw the rust spot while examining my makers mark. It was finish sanded but not protected enough when I taped it up. My lines aren't clean enough?

Probably should of left the bevels belt finished and just hand sanded the flats. The grind lines would of stood out then. Next one will be full flat grind anyway

Sounds like you learned something from this already. Hand sanding the bevels without blurring the grind lines can be very hard to do - something I might do for a collector's knife but definitely more than I would try for a using knife. That said, with practice you can get a very nice belt finish on your bevels...
