Kitchen knife set. And a loveless style.

Finally got some shop time today. Started 2 orders a 6 piece kitchen knife set and a hunter.

A 6 inch clever, chefs knife, cheese knife, paring knife, filet knife and utility. The clever, filet and paring knife are 440c. The rest are AEB-L. Rough grind on the ones I'm grinding pre heat treat are done. I'll try to have them all ready for heat treat by tomorrow.

Ray, I probably won't forget. Lol.

PoolQs. The handles will bore you to tears, he wanted synthetic pearl handles and no bolsters.

But the hunter will have a very cool piece of stabilized redwood burl.

Progress so far. Also last night I whipped out an IWB conceal carry holster. I ordered the clips from cross breed. But the rest was all on hand. Took less than am hour and cost maybe 20.00$. Most comfortable holster I've worn. Just showing how all the knife and sheath skills cross over to other crafts so to speak.

Great stuff Ricky. Bet you tried to talk him out of the "plastic pearl" (I couldn't bring myself to use that on a knife I make).
Holster looks good (I'm too compact to wear IWB, bugs me to much). How you like your K? Got one in 45 I like a lot.

C Rex I bought a cw9 for my wife for Christmas. I have carried a glock every day for about 6 years. I liked the wife's kahr, I decided I needed one too. Really like both of them. Both have been flawless so far about 250 rounds thru them so far.

Still working on the set since I have 6 knives that will all use the same handle material and need a liner, I decided to stream line the process. I attached the handle material to the liner first. That will make handle assembly quicker with fewer parts to glue on assembly. A few pics

Thank you.

All 6 have handles drying. These 2 are done except marking and sharpening. The pics don't come close to showing the handles. I thought I wouldn't like them but the handles actually turned out really good. My wife saw them and said it was her favorite handles I've done before. I'm not giving up on good ol wood, but I'm pleased with how these are looking.

Never disappoint everything looks top quality. And seeing the progress you have made over the last couple days makes me think I should probably get out in the shop and crank a little Pandora and get to grinding.

I wouldn't likely ever choose that pearl, especially before seeing this, but it actually looks pretty darn good from this side of the screen. And that black liner really sets it off. And now having seen it, who knows? Nice set, someone will have something to be proud of.

Almost done. Sharpening and cleanup. But here is the 6 knife set. I would definitely use this material again for kitchen knives. Never on anything else, but for this purpose it works. It's tough to get a good pic of all 6 knives at the same time because of my current lighting. Even in the shadow box.
