Not sure but I imagine that there's a difference in the abrasive used in the two. You could probably research this on the net.

Havent heard of a -b
Could be just a different design on the backing Are the UPC numbers are the same? |

Uh, the 'b'? Seriously, I'm not aware of any substantive sub category on grit sizes or compositions. If the two types look the same then for our purposes they probably are the same. As for the UPC number, I can see that at least half of it is the same which is circumstantial but ...

It just occurred to me that the 'b' might refer to the weight of the backing paper. You see that on belts all the time but I'm not used to seeing it on sheets so maybe it is and maybe not. I'd call the supplier and ask or simply buy a few sheets of each and see what the difference is . If you can't tell when you have it in hand then it probably doesn't matter ...

I just compared them more closely. There is virtually no difference in the backing, both are waterproof, and I can't tell the difference when sanding (metal).
Ray, the UPC numbers are the same. For my sanding purposes I guess it doesn't matter. Maybe there's a subtle difference that makes one better than the other if it was to be used on a palm sander or something. I'm in a small town and know the guys at the local hardware store, I think I'll ask them just out of curiosity. good puzzler, they'll enjoy it __________________ Stay away from fast women and slow horses |

I have used both of those. I have not been able to notice a difference. Sorry that I couldn't help but felt like I should say something.

I've used both as well, they cut and last the same. Don't think I'd worry about it a whole lot. Like you said, could give the fellas at the hardware store something to ponder on besides the price of mothballs.
