Palm sander modification.

I was looking through some old threads and came across Ed's thread about doing this, so today I bought a square palm sander and went to changing it up a little.

I'm working on the kitchen knife deal and to be honest this 416 sands nothing like the 1084 I'm used to.

Anyhow, I took his advice. But instead of using G10 I used some 1/4" plexiglass I already had
And Home Depot sold some cork shelf liner that was peel and stick.

On this knife I ended up with the dreaded 2" low spot on the knife and had a ton of sanding to do to get rid of it, it worked good, but still took some time to get it out.

This picture is sanded to 320 grit using WD-40.

With the sander I just removed the factory platen and used it for a template, the cork is self stick, I just used spray adhesive to the cork to attach the paper.
