Why is it that sometimes when I post pics, they show up in the posts, while other times you have to click on the links?

It could be the host you are using, or the link you are using. I personally use photobucket. It all depends on what link I use as too what happens with the photo. Here is three examples of the same photo of a Certificate of Authenticity!

This is what happens if I use the IMG thumbnail link. I get a thumbnail photo, if you click on the photo it will take you to my photbucket page and a full size photo. However if you do not have that file set to a privacy setting...........

EDIT: I removed this photo because this link also allows for anyone who is a photobucket member access to this entire file! Some folks may not know that!

Here is a direct link, no photo just a link to the pic.

And here it is using the IMG code for forums.

By the way nice knife, nothing wrong with plain walnut!

If I capture those three factors in each knife I build, I am assured the knife will become a piece that is used and treasured by its owner!

Mark, I love the 'plain ol walnut' didn't know it would look so good! Great work.

Question for you sir: how do you joint the liner material? I noticed you not only have the liner between the scales and the tang, but between the scales and the guard. Is it a T joint with two separate pieces or did you score it and fold it at a 90 degree turn.

I was thinking of scoring the material and folding it to prevent the small piece from possibly falling out,but I haven't attempted it yet.

Thanks for your perspective,

Alex

I've always just done it in 2 pieces...but scoring it then folding might work. I'll try that next time. One time I epoxied the liner to a piece of natural walnut before I had fit it to the knife, when I came out the next day the scales were no longer flat....they warped badly. Probably wouldn't have that prob on stabilized wood or micarta. Thought I'd share that with everyone so they don't learn the hard way like I did.

Another walnut handled knife. #66

ATalley, I tried scoring and bending the liners on this knife. It seemed to work great, at least well enough to try it again. Thanks, Mark

Good deal Mark, looks great man!

I've got a stock of Missouri walnut that's been drying floor a couple years in a garage. May have to use some.

Stay safe,

Alex
