I think I followed the diagram on the motor along with the vfd manual. It is pretty simple and I bearly know the basics about electricity. Either way you go you will be happy as long as you are spinning a 2 x 72 belt. It was a great day for me when I retired my 1 x 30 harbor freight grinder.

I hear you there! I'm using my Porter-Cable 4x36 that my wife bought for me last Christmas. It's a really nice machine for handles and such. My skills with it aren't like Eli's. He's awesome on the 4x36 if you haven't seen his videos...

Ok, spoke with my buddy and it turns out that he's a metal hoarder! He said something like, "Oh, yeah, I have a 4'x8' sheet of 1/4" plate steel lying around.".... "Oh, I have about 50 feet of 1 1/2" square tubing." Looks like this grinder is going to happen a bit quicker than I figured!
