Very pretty Knife and of very nice line. Does the engraving heighten and embellishes the piece . On that product has met to the fund (black)? The color that you give to his funds that tonality has in general - sheen, dull or shiny? Thanks for proving to be a friend .Me his engravings please. Montejano |

Very tasteful Darren.
From what I have seen of your work it always seem to add just the right amount of embellishment to accent the piece and never overwhelm it. Keep up the great work. This is a beatiful piece. |

Very nice, Darren- the beaded background adds a lot.
Montejano's question didn't come through very well in translation- he'd like to know what you used to color the background, and whether it was a matte, shiny, or satin finish. Thanks. |

Love the beadwork Darren (actually love it all). There are some areas where there's a single row of beads, not easy to pull off. Shading is superb.

Thank you so much guys for the complements and encouragement.
It was really great to have the opportunity to engrave this D'Holder but, there are three others siting in my safe as well. D'Holder makes a wonderful knife and those handle materials that he uses on the "My Knife" knives are awesome. Needless to say, it's an honer to engrave such nice knives by one of the legends in the knife world. Montejano amigo, What I used in the background was a diluted glossy black enamel paint. and the metal is of nickel silver and is mirror polish. I hope I answered your question. Thanks again Darren __________________ DarrenP.Reeves Custom Hand Engraving Billings, Montana 1-406-245-3444 Knife in Avatar Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today. |

Darren.......
One again a very nice piece of work. I love the punch-dot background. Getting all those dots to come out even and not overlap is a real chore....you done good. I don't know why I or any of us have to say that....we expect to see the very best when we see your work. Question: Do you re-cut the engraving and borders after you punch the background? Just curious. Thanks for the showing.........! Jim |

Thanks Ron and Jim.
Jim to answer your question, yes I do. What I do is cut all the main line work, then punch dot the background, Then I go back and run the graver through the out side cuts, not so much re-cutting them as cleaning them up. Then I go in and do the shading last. Thanks again guys. very nice! Great movement in the leaves. I bet it was a chore holding the knife so you could engrave the back of the butt cap! If you have any hidden secrets on that score, inquiring minds want to know.
take care, Tom |
