KMG Tool Tree and KMG auxilary tool rest

Last weekend I welded up an auxilary tool rest for my KMG and this weekend I just finished up a tool holder tree for the KMG. You can see them here

Great ideas Tracy. The tool rest on the stock KMG is longer on one side than the other also, so your 2" tool rest would really help solve my problems with it. The tree is very handy. I'm using up all kinds of good shelf space with KMG parts, and I just added the roller platen.

I need to make another tree. I still have no place for my roller platen and then I need an empty slot to swap to when changing out tools. I just made the one tree with 5 slots as a test and didn't want to have to reach over my head to rack a tool so I kept it short. I'll save that project for later. Man, does my welding need work...

I just did a knife using the tool rest and I believe I'll be doing them using it from now on versus free hand. No burnt fingers. I do need to make a jig for hollow grinding and see how that works.

Tracy, very sweet setup you have there. The tool rest shows lots of adjustment. And I was wondering what I was going to do with all my spare KMG arms. I once thought of a system with large diameter PVC pipe to hold it all, but your idea looks better. Now, to steal, errr...I mean "borrow" your idea.
