Anodizing Solution

I just started to get into anodizing but I was just wondering I dont know if this is the right sub category but here it goes. I have been watching tons of videos and ttalked to a few people on youtube but I was just wondering if when you put your piece of material into the solution I see that lots of people are using phosphate free cleaners or baking soda. My question is would it not be wiser to use a strong salene solution because other than the high sodium content might make it rust. It should conduct more electricity should it not? Also what about liquid such as gatorade or powerade that are high in electrolytes? would they work or would the sugar content mess up the process.

I've heard of people using Windex or Cola too. So what? You can use just about anything. I've tried TSP and Windex and a few others and don't see a lot of difference. One thing though, whatever you use should be clear so you can see what you're doing. The blue tint to Windex made it difficult to see exactly what color I had and cola would probably hide it completely.

The smart money is on TSP-PF, a phosphate free version of TSP. Anodizing is simple and easy, don't over think it ...
