First hidden tang hunter
Believe it or not this is the first hidden tang hunter with full gaurd that I have ever made. I never could figureout how to get the guards right so I moved on to other things. Now that I have been taught how to do the gaurds ( thanks Paul) and thanks to Ed C tutorial on pressure fit gaurds I finally figured it out. A bit slow but hey.
As some of you may remember I went through a bit of a down period after the last show in the spring so I decided to go back and do the basic knives that I skipped during the process. This seems to have helped since I am getting the LOOK from "she who must be obeyed" again. Anyways please let me kow what you think. Any suggestions gratefully accepted. Overall 9 1/4" Blade 4" Guard and spacers 416, mammoth ivory, dyed elder burl, 416. handle flame elder burl. Great looking knife Steve. Did you like making it enough to make more or is it just a one time thing?
As Dan said darn pretty Burl. Thanks for showing it. Charles |

I will undoubtedly be making a few more. The methods of working the gaurd area need a bit of practice. I burned the wood areas against the second piece of 416 when I was shaping it. It actually looks fine but I don't think I want to do that next time.
