Old Files & Rasps

I know this is prob old hat for most.. but ive spent some time
aquiring alot of large old files and rasps... I want to do a sort
of "group softening" in the large forge.. put a bunch of them
in at once.. take them all out at once.. anyone see any down
side to it as far as just softening em up for later work like shaping..thanks!
