Bench mess or ...

... maybe a bit too much fun ... where did I put that chuck key ? ... order from chaos ... knifemaking makes me thirsty ... don't try this at home ... this mess was created by an experienced professional.

Note the hefty garbage bag in the bottom right hand corner.

Gene's "Law of Flat Spots"

If there is a flat spot, put something on it, better yet, put lots of stuff on it.

Re: Gene's "Law of Flat Spots"

You guys make me feel better. Here all along I thought I was the Lone Ranger when it comes to "well distributed" tools and accessories on the shop horizontal surfaces. And, thanks Larry, for your insights. Now I realize it's all those guys who have neat shops who have the sick minds. Suddenly I no longer feel certifiable. :

Hey Tai, thats not too bad but like Larry says you can see bench there. Max needs to get a lesson from you.

I have a sign over my work area that says: "The sign of an organized mind is a messy bench."

Re: kewl

That's not a mess!
It's nowhere close to being a mess.
You can still see the table top and you only have two, maybe three, Rolling Rock:rollin: beer bottles laying around.
Kinda looks like my shop after I have cleaned it.

Re: kewl

You guys that have floors in your shops make me sick. I rake mine every once and awhile. If I drop something there's a 99% chance it is swallowed up and never seen again. If it lands on my bench its still findable.....Ray

Re: kewl

You make me proud Tai! That's a classical example of a workbench. Study that word. WORKbench. A clean workbench is a sign of someone with too much free time on their hands. And anyone that wants to take that the wrong way can meet me out in back of the Outpost! He he. You guys don't even want me to take a pic of my current workbench. It would hurt your eyes. And I can't post the pic anyway. But that's ok because it'll keep you from needing glasses!!! Heeeee Haaawwwww!!!!!
