Fowler Searles and Constable bowies
Found this old bowie in Oklahoma at an estate sale 10 inch blade 14.5 inch overall length. There isn't any markings on the knife and collectors weekly claims?? : "It doesn't actually appear to be a bowie knife. There should be more of a curve on the upper side of the blade near the point. It should have what is called a clip point." Have any of you on this forum seen this style of old bowie stacked handle knives? Bowie knives come in all shapes and sizes. The original, or near as can be told, was little more than a large butcher knife. Can you post pics? The link leads nowhere.
