Machined S7 Hammer drift

This was a combination lathe and mill project. I wanted a drift that was much better then the ductile iron ones. So I got a bar of 1 1/4" S7 and made one. It's 14" long and tapers down to 3/8". The steel alone cost more then a new iron drift.

If they make jack hammer chisels out of S7 then it should be more then tough enough for a drift.

Brent looks good my friend. I hope you forged that instead of stock removing and wasting all that S7?

S7 makes fine drifts, I prefer H13 for them personally.
