Knife vise

Has anyone seen this? It looks like it would be easy to make the only thing I cant figure out is how the bottom is attached to let it swivel.

Not sure about that one but I used the bottom of my Pana-Vise for part of the swivel. The vise jaws swivel on a simple bolt which is probably about the same as the one on eBay...

Texas Knife Supply sell one also that is very similar to the one you posted. I think theirs is in the range of Pop's as well.

I just made one the other day out of 2" square tubing and some 3/8" bolts for tensioners and a few pieces of red oak. Haven't used it yet, but looking at some, thought, "man, I need one of those.....what for I don't know, but I need one..."

Doug, the dimensions are I.D.: outside pipe 2.5" / inside pipe 2". The nice thing about this design, you can rotate the inner tube and lock it at whatever area you want to work on the handle.

If you want it to swivel horizontally, basically you can just take the same idea of inner and outer pipes but weld it on the bottom 90 degrees to the main vise body.

I swivel the base of the vice the knife vise is in. Your idea would be nice too.

Poor Boy's on Ebay has a better price than that. He makes a couple of models. You do have to provide the wood "jaws" to go inside the clamp, however.
