Hunter's Hatchet
Here is a hunter's hatchet a friend that I hunt moose with requested. He wants it for knocking off branches when going through thicker brush and cracking pelvic bones and the like.I think the next one will have a slightly longer cutting edge. It measures 1 7/8" cutting edge x 4 1/2" long hand forged head with a 10 " curly maple handle and weighs in at just 13 oz. Opinions and suggestions are alway's welcomed. Thanks for looking.

Looks good. Should be real handy. How did you colour the head? Steve __________________ Stephen Vanderkolff Please come on over and check out my website. http://www.vanderkolffknives.com/ Thanks |

I used Birchwood Casey's "PLUMB BROWN" . you just clean the head with acetone and then pre heat the head about 250f and put the solution on. Repeat until the colour is even and then clean it up with steel wool and oil. Paul
