Burl Walnut Handle
http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ter...nm=1-small.jpg closeup of handle http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ter...nm=4-small.jpg knife is 1/8" O1 steel, clay coated (furnace cement from Lowes), quenched in veggie oil, sanded to 2000 grit and etched with vinegar to just barely show a whiteish hamon (kinda a ghost in the steel thing), shiny brass guard (my wife didnt like the dremel texturing on my last one ), made the knife to fit the sheath, the handle is Burl Black Walnut from Ken Beatty with KandSknives, hand sanded down to 2000 grit and finished with teak oil. The pictures do not show the true depth of this wood, it looks 3D in person and is the most beautiful wood i have seen. edit: apparently i cant post pics from my yahoo here Last edited by Terry_Dodson; 01-17-2004 at 10:07 PM. |
