You, my Friends...
Forty hours a week at the hospital, 20 hours a week in the tattoo studio, and whatever I can get in the shop, doesn't leave much time for a social life.
Sure, I have some friends, but it is my friends here with whom I share the most and spend the most time. When I first joined this community, I felt a bit odd about 'talking' with people in such a way. I felt like I was socially challenged or something--must be my age. Nonetheless, My friends here, most of whom I've never met, are among my best and closest. I thank you for that, and wish you all a very wonderful Christmas and a great New Year! A special nod to those who have helped me so much with their seemingly endless knowledge and patience. Another nod to the 'Class of 05' who I learned with--you know who you are. Happy Holidays to all! __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |

Andy-
I feel the same way. I caught myself the other day telling a story and mentioning "one of my friends from KNet". If you would have told me 10 years ago that I would have a friend, let alone quite a few of them, that I would never meet face to face or even have a conversation on the phone with, I would have called you nuts. The fact is in a little over a year around here I feel that I have developed some great friendships. Chances are I'll never cross paths (face to face) with most people here and I'm ok with that. What I know about my friends here is enough to call them friends, and what I don't know is great for my imagination. For instance I think all of you guys ride vintage Harley's and wrestle bears for fun. Everytime I see a "1" for the number of posts I wonder if I'm about to start a new frienship. Thanks for the post! -Dave __________________ www.ruhligknives.com "The choice isn't between success and failure; it's between choosing risk and striving for greatness, or risking nothing and being certain of mediocrity." - Keith Ferrazi |
