Were is a good place for sending my knife out for laser engraving a logo

Just wondering, will the logo be on the steel or on the handle?
I have a local trophy shop that can laser engrave wood and micarta, with camara ready art for a fairly reasonable price. I did ask about laser etching the steel and was told that they would have o send it out, and the price would be almost double what I paid for their service. It was explained to me that the diffrence in strength of the laser dictates what can be cut with it.

For the price you will be paying, it wouldnt take long to get set up with an etching machine of your own. Its a fairly simple process, and gives nice results.

Im sorry If I mislead you, I was refering to a etching machine. Such as an Electro etch.
or Marking Methods. The stencle type which Im sure you are familiar with.
