I've never seen the stuff let alone how it's made. Sounds cool to me.

How about a pie or two instead of the scones?

Jim

C'mon, Stan, having the fire department show up and all those helicopters and such is half the fun of one of Donnie's hammer-ins!

Here's some pics of the burner heads I use. These are all 1/4" ID fittings. Screw everything together before you buy them. I've noticed discrepancies in some fitting sizes.

These work best with 0.023" or 0.030" MIG tips for gas jets. Like the pics say, you don't need the male-male or female-female couplers. I originally had a different fitting for the hose attachment that needed the male coupler. When I switched some other fittings, I couldn't get it unscrewed so I had to add the other coupler.

There's another reducing bell that has straight angled sides that works even better than the smooth rounded one shown here. Just don't get the ones that have the blocky "stairstep" look to them. Those don't work well at all.

For the MIG tips, shorter ones are better (5/8"-3/4" long). Longer ones are fine if that's all you can find. They all will get ground down to the exact length needed to tune the burner.

We're still on!

24334 Travis House Ln
Katy, TX 77493

It actually shows up correct on mapquest...or close enough. We're the second house and it shows us as being halfway down the street.

Hey Don, what else are we going to need to bring for this shindig besides some of these fittings? I am really keeping my fingers crossed that something does not come up to interfere with this. I have not seen anything blown up in a long time.

Any ongoing projects you want to show off or work on. I have several tubes/forge body things. Natural material clothing...ie no rayon disco shirts or anything that might "shrink wrap you" if a spark gets on it.

Drinks/snacks you want.

(edit)Cute fuzzy kittens to gently purr and sit in a corner looking precious while we work?(/edit)

Who's coming? So far, from these forums I have:
Drac,
Stanley,
Wade (unless something comes up),
Rick?
Chris?

From Others
A couple makers I met at the Austin show, one who lives over here in Katy/Brookshire, the other will be doing pics and such for the TKCA newsletter. We have a new editor now and will be doing big color spreads, so we're all going to be rich and famous now!
The guy and his son that were at the first one here in Katy (can't remember his name off-hand)
I haven't heard back from Andy down in Bay City.
Ray, from here in Katy
John from Woodlands

Well I was going to bring my wife but it might be safer if she didn't see this!!

Actually if everything goes well I should have a couple knives to bring down (including my latest KITH knife) and a couple pies. Apple & pecan, sorry cream and meringue doesn't travel well in Texas heat.

John's wife is probably coming as well, plus my wife, so there'll be other female company as well.

Don,

Not worried. My wife knows it's a joke!!!!

We are coming down Sat and staying up in the Woodlands off 45 and doing some shopping and dining. We'll head over late Sunday morning. She will actually drop me off and probably go to the outlet mall near there.

Jim

We have the Katy outlet mall just across I-10 from our place. It's OK. Lots of different stuff. There's also one up on HWY 290 if you take Fry rd up from I-10, that's all clothes.
