1000 degree material into room temp granite bowl?
I am dealing with about 1 tbsp of melted salt at around 1000 degrees F. I am wanting to know if it's "safe" to pour it into a room temperature granite bowl (pestle). If I let it cool in the crucible, It sticks to the crucible, and I can never get it out. I know that you cannot just pour materials of that temp into any old recepticle, but would/should a heavy 8" granite bowl be ok? I realize it's not ideal. I guess what I'm asking is, will it crack the granite, or jump out, or something. Thanks in advance.
