Meridian II prototype

Quick pic of my latest model in the works with the Rhino flipper. It flicks open extremely fast without a wrist whack or an extra appendage extending beyond the spine of the handle. I'm fishing for opinions/ thoughts on the blade and handle profile. Also like some thoughts on the bolster arrangment. Opted for the blue twill G10 since this is going to be a prototype and I haven't used it before.

SPECS
8 1/4" OAL 4 5/8" closed
BLADE: 3 5/8" S30V hollow ground
clip point recurve
Ti frame, bolsters, & back spacer
blu twill G10 scales

feedback good and bad appreciated

Thanks in advance,
Lee

I've had the opportunity of handling one of your flipper models at the Mesquite show. Man is that baby smooth!

I love the blade shape on this one. And the bolsters are really different and attractive. With how the scales extend all the way to the front, you can play with some very nice natural handle materials.

If I had one comment, it would be the overall shape of the handle. It would be nice to see it dip down a little more to the rear. I'm just thinking out loud (so to speak) to give it more curvature. That would allow you to profile the inside of the handle area a little more.

Again, just my .02. And I hear it isn't even worth that.

#### good show Lee.

Chris

I'm impressed by the whole design. Especially the bolster treatment. Must've been a bear to fit.

Definitely an idea worth stealing! :evil

That's a real beauty. I really like that flipper design and it must be one smooth knife if it opens w/out any supporting flicking going on. And the lines really are great... very impressive!

Boy Howdy! I think you're on to something here! I sure like what I see Lee. Like the grind also, leaving is bold. I'd like to try one out in person. The blue G10 is a nice added touch.

Thanks all for the nice words. This one isn't finished yet. Probably shoulda waited till I finished to post it, but I really wanted feedback on the overall profile/ flow of the knife. Got another of these I/P, I'll get some pics up when it's complete.

Thanks again,
Lee

I really do like this knife! You know what would be cool, if you could somehow magically do away with the two screws on the handle nearest the blade so all the screws and the pivot line up. And I think it might look better if the butt end of the handle didn't narrow so much. But those are really just some nits, like I said, this is one of the neatest folders I've seen in awhile!

Very cool...

Like the lines, although I do agree about the butt.

I understand why you'd want those two screws on the extended parts of the scales. I'm thinking out loud here...if the top and bottom of the bolsters were dovetailed would that put enough pressure on the scale extensions so that they'd be held in place?

As usual, you've come up with another very neat folder...
