Need info on old knife
I have an old knife, a folder, with a narrow blade approx. 6 inches long, dagger shaped. It has locking blade with lock release about one third of the way back from the pivot on the spine of the handle. The scales are stag. The blade is stamped William Nicholson in the choil area. I am not familar with old knives or makers. The knife has been in my family for over seventy years. Does anyone have information on the maker or if the knife may be valuable?

Could be from the same company that made Nicholson files?

The William Nicholson company was out of Sheffield England and went out of business in 1864. If this knife turns out to be genuine, depending upon condition, it could be exceptionally special, and rather valuable.
