Friends utility

I've been working on this one for a while and have finally finished it. Its 1095 flat grind, hand sanded to 1500 grit, differentially heat treated, red liners, tapered tang, 416 stainless bolsters and pins. I rat tailed the bolster with a chain saw sharpening file. Handle material is rams horn.
Hope you like, new owner took possession last night at dinner he said he was excited and loved it!

Thanks for looking, comments and critiques welcome.

Thanks PoolQ! I wish I could say I made the sheath, but I can't. My brother did a great job on it being the third one he's made!Super solid. Glue and sticstitching. He stitched a small welt in the mouth to provide retention, the finger guard just catches it and will prevent it from falling out on its own when the leather wears. I really like it. Im proud that he did such a great job!

Hempish, Thanks for the kind words! Rams Horn is my favorite, it works super easy (just dont burn it/get it too hot) I thinned these two peices out from the back side with a new 50 grit belt and the horn came off in ribbons! Its a great material. You cant really see it in the picture, but on the redius of the scales there are a few red streaks in the horn. I'm told this a sign of good luck, that its when the animal was growing the horn it somehow injured itself and blood staying in between the layers and its called "blood horn"

KWhether it is or not I think it looks cool, and its a good story!)

I've got a second blade in this design, just a 1/2 or so longer handle. Its not sanded out yet, but it will get there

Thanks!
