Long time no post in the Display Case!
This dirk has a persimmon handle and a vegetable tanned leather lined curly maple sheath. The fittings are all Sterling silver.
The damascus is my own 1084 / 15N20 tight twist which elongates toward the tip as the blade was forged to shape. The blade is 7 5/8" & the handle 5".

Very Nice!

How do you like the persimmon? I may have a source for several green boards, but I don't know much about it. I've heard it is rather hard. Golf clubs or something used to be made out of it.

Anyway, very cool dirk. The entire thing looks great, and I really like the pommel.

Very cool Jon-

I remember you doing fittings like that before...and how much I liked them that time as well! The pommel is wonderful...

I think you mentioned it then, and I know it has something to do with your jeweler's background...how are those made? Did you find the designs existing on some older reference piece? Certainly have that rich, historic quality...

Great!

Jonathon, you drop out for a couple months and then come back with that? Amazing knife. You continue to top yourself. Great symmetry in that damascus.
