Chef's Knife in Ironwood

This knife is to be raffled off for the 2015 annual Sheriff's Charity Ride on Aug 22, 2015 in Franklin IN. I hope it brings some money for a great cause.

I built it from O1 Tool Steel bought from Aldo (Great Stuff Aldo!). I heat treated it before grinding in an evenheat oven and quenched in Texaco Type A. Tempered for 2 hours @ 350 degrees. it came out of the oven a beautiful golden brown on the spine (A file skidded off the edge and bit into the spine)6- 3/32 brass pins and stuck w/accraglas

Finished the blade to 800 grit by hand, and dressed it in book-matched desert ironwood I bought from Sheffield Knife supply at the Knifemakers Guild Show in Nashville Ky a couple of years ago.

O1 toolsteel
OAL is 13"
blade is 7 7/8"
blade width is 2.5"

comments welcome - Thanks for looking!

Alex
