Anyone have news about the Oregon show?

So, I'm dying to know how John and others did at the Oregon show along with how the show went in general. I'm sure John will chime in after he recovers from the long trip, but guessing he may minimize how many great comments he got on his knives . Anybody hear anything?

Back and rested from the show. I forgot to take my camera with me so no pics.

I did get a chance to wander around a bit on Friday. I got to meet a lot of new folks and see some friends from other shows.

A good mix of all kinds of sharp things. Lots of customs and many tables selling either factory brands or antiques and other collections.

A few suppliers were on hand though not as many as I was hoping. I did manage to resupply my wood stash somewhat. I didn't buy any ivory though there was some there. None of it really caught my eye though.

I took 5 knives and only brought one home so for sales it was a good show.

Dave Lisch won 3 or 4 awards that were well deserved to say the least. Zac Buchanan won best hunter though I didn't see the knife but he makes nice stuff.

I don't remember who won the rest of the categories.

I traveled over with Don Bell and we had a good time and a lot of laughs. I will probably go back next year as I had good sales and the trip didn't cost all that much.

Glad the show went well for you, John and no surprise here that you sold almost all of those knives. Oh, and I'd love to see the tux picture... .

ep the Oregon show was, well the Oregon Show. John had some great knives on the table. I did not get a chance to see his Bowie but I hear it was GREAT. Here are some shots

Johns Knives He had left when I got to his table first two were actually sold

Here's the group

The fighter/hunter which was Johns personal knife was extraordinary. Yes the others were great but that blackwood handled knife was just incredible. It was a WINNER in my book It reminded me of one I had made years ago but his was much better.

Dave Lisch did clean up, Best Bowie, Fighter and Damascus. He had won best hand forged too but someone (namely me) pointed out the judges made an error by moving his knife from best art knife to best hand forged as it was Damascus. Not allowed in best hand forged.

Good times though visiting with all those I only see once or twice a year. Now the wait for Boise.
