A couple new suppliers
I was researching musk ox horn (saw it on a D Holder knife) and found one site with some exotic handle materials and a related one on band saw blades. Both are out of Alaska.
http://markknappcustomknives.com/knifemakingpage.htm http://www.sharpenalaska.com/pricelistspage.htm I also invited the maker to join us but he doesn't have much time to spend on the net. Jim __________________ I cook with a flair for the dramatic, and depraved indifference to calories |

Yeah, Mark is usualy realy busy, especialy now, he's building a new shop. I keep meaning to invite him here, but always forget it when I'm there. I get all my bandsaw blades there. Great quality.
I've never bought handle suplies from him, but from what he has in the shop, it looks like quality. G. __________________ http://ak-adventurer.net/ Gary Blessing, Ex-custom knife maker, Ex-Folder modifier & embelisher. |

Mark carries some good stuff. I bought some mammoth scales before the prices went up. He has some great knives and I like to check his site every so often just to see his latest work.
I was able to meet him at a hammer in last Nov and hold some of his knives. He does some incredible work to say the least. This one actually gave me a headache just thinking about fitting all of the handle materials. http://markknappcustomknives.com/ima..._amber_600.jpg By the time my knives get to this caliber I will be too old to even remember how I did it.
