..........but no more until I get back to the ol' Bridgeport . Finally got 'er put together and the pivot pins adjusted and Loctited into place .

It was a great experience and a first for me on the inlay thing. I mirror polished the screws and retainers and left the blade finish alone, except for rubbing the outside circumference, because of the horn mods and the modified blade profile, to 400 grit.

I basically did the same with the handles..... Except for the handrubbing of the face of the handles and inlays to 1500 grit and doing the filework, I left the factory brushed finish on the insides but, again, rubbed the cicumference of the outsides to 400.

Did you clip the blade some more, or does it come that way? I haven't played with mine in a long time, so I've kinda forgotten what it looks like...

Thanks Ix and yes I did reprofile the blade to more of a Bowie configuration with a longer clip and 'swedged' it to the tip.

I also reshaped the horns a bit and kind of straightened them out....

Better get yours out and play with it more often..............the Typhoon I mean!

Both actually........... I cut the inlay material a little long, made sure it was a nice fit, 'roughed up' the circumference of the inlays with a prick punch and used 2-ton epoxy around the outsides of each one.

I had to be real careful not to use but a very small amount of epoxy because I didn't drill the holes for the inlays all the way through the handles, so there was no place for any excess epoxy to go. Since a liquid can't be compressed, if there is too much, the trapped air will not let the inlay seat all the way to the bottom and it'll pop up out of the handle.

I used the point of a needle to apply the epoxy. It can get kind of messy but the epoxy will come off of the handles with little problem. After it set up real good, I used a small piece of brass to scrape the excess off since the brass won't scratch the stainless handles and that epoxy loads the paper so quickly...........

After that, it was all file work to get the inlays down to the level of the handles then it was time to break out the various grits of sandpaper and a small piece of rock maple that I use for my sanding block........................ nothing to it!

Those guys that make knives that only have one handle (two sides) have it made!!! Balis are twice the 'fun'...........

Very nice DD..., I really like the modification to the Clip, you did a great job throughout!

That'll be fun for you if you can get the use of that Bridgeport ..., then you can have some big time fun!
