Looking for Sword
A friend is in the market for a good quality sword. He asked me about a maker he heard of, I did some research and it was disappointing. I suggested he ask Jim Hrisoulas, but Jim has some issues going on and is unable to take orders.
So I throw it out to TKN: Where would you go for a quality sword? __________________ God bless Texas! Now let's secede!! |

Right off the top of my head I'd suggest Michael Pikula... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Micha...71965196223148

I haven't got a lot of info. There are usually reasons for him to do these things quietly. I'm not going to act as middleman on the deal, but just getting him some people to deal with.
The guy has bought a number of custom knives before from various makers - including several who post here - and usually they are for gifts for people who he holds in some esteem, and it takes a lot to earn that. I'll say he's willing to pay what it's worth. What he's looking for is something of quality - not the mall ninja stuff. That's why Hrisoulas came to my mind. __________________ God bless Texas! Rick - if he is looking for an 18th Century/early 19th Century sword check out Kyle Willyard's excellent work
http://www.olddominionforge.com/about.html and he can have Wick Ellerbe do a proper sheath for it as well................ __________________ Chuck Burrows Hand Crafted Leather & Frontier Knives dba Wild Rose Trading Co Durango, CO chuck@wrtcleather.com www.wrtcleather.com The beautiful sheaths created for storing the knife elevate the knife one step higher. Thanks Chuck!
In case you wondered, it's a mutual friend of ours. Good to know he's still kicking - I'm going to have something for him in the next couple of months if I can get past the back orders........ __________________ God bless Texas! Now let's secede!! Someone else to consider would be Jeff Helmes, he does some beautiful work in the early medieval style...
