Really nice knife. How'd you make the radius in the fitting between the guard and handle?

i didn't know there were chupacabras in Kalifornia. I thought the only ones in the states were down here in the Texas Rio Grande valley.

I made a presentation knife about 15 years ago and etched that name on the blade.

Yours is better than mine.

Just a question. Did you use any thing to attatch the guard to the ferrel?

God Bless

Thanks for all the kind words guys..

Don, the radius in the feurrle is hand filed using a round file.

I pulled the chupacabra name out of the air when writing the post.. I think it poped in my head when I read the title of Franks threads (Canali?o Folder)... How I made that leap is beyond me..

Mike,
The guard, ferrule, wood, pin were all fitted prior to glueing.. I left the wood a bit oversized for final shaping. All were glued up at the same time using JB Weld

Cheers,
Jerid

Very nice lines. I really like the contrast between the 5160 blade and Jim's pattern weld for the guard. Walnut Burl works well with the overall look too.

Coto de Caza??? that's where I got married. How come I can't place your name Jerid? While I haven't made many Cal Knives meetings, do you not go to SC blades meetings? Or have I just done my usual spacing of names

I don't think the place we got married is there anymore. Twenty years ago, it was the deck of the club house. It was covered in a wild grape arbor. The reception was held in the Garden Room. At the time my father-in-law belonged to the gun club out there. We held the wedding rehearsal after the bride soundly beat the rest of the wedding party (along with the groom) in a round of trap
