removing hidden tang handle
A relative of mine has a scrimshaw knife that has to be at least 50 years old from Alaska. The knife blade is broken midway through. We think that it is ivory handled. What is the best way to go about removing the handle intact? We don't care what happens to the other part of the blade. Dan

heat it?
I am not at their house and I can't post a pic. Looks like ivory though or at least some kind of bone. Will the epoxy "let go" at a temp that won't harm the handle. I suppose I can have a go at drilling it out but that would a major pain in the butt. Dan
