l-36 chicago folding knife

I have a chicago L-36 folding knife that needs the spring put back into the knife.
The spring looks to be okay, something happened and it fell out. Is there anyone out there that could fix this problem??

I would think just about any folder maker here could fix it without much trouble. Sounds like it just needs some pins replaced then, or what?

My guess is that the spring, if not broken, was poorly fitted in the first place. Putting it back probably wouldn't solve the problem for long. So, that means either a new spring that fits properly must be made or some modification to the way the spring is secured must be made.

In any case, the knife must be disassembled to accomplish the repair. The L-36 is a lockback assembled with pins so that job will require someone with significant experience at building pinned lockbacks. As these knives have some collector's value as well as possible sentimental value to the owner, anyone who takes on this project needs to be very confident they can accomplish it while modifying the knife as little as possible ......
