file work

I have a couple of questions about file work. I've seen file work on the handle area of a knife that has been filled in. I've also seen file work in the same area that does not appear to have been fillled in. How do you go about each method. I'm particularly interested in the methods for non filled in . How do you clean the epoxy from the handle scales out. I was also wondering if the tutoral on vine file work was going to come back. The site seems to be down. Hope it's temporary.
Thanks GeneT

Gene,

The filework tutorial was reproduced in the January 2005 issue of the GCKG newsletter. You can download it from http://www.georgiaknifemakersguild.com. Just go there and click on the Download Newsletters link.

As for getting the epoxy out of the filework, here's a thread with a pretty good idea...

Welcome aboard!
