First hidden tang! Clip point with Lacewood

well here it is guys my first hidden tang... i'm happy with it as a first try. the grind lines could be smoother but hey its the last knife i will ever grind on my 1x30 since i have my KMG now!

its Aldos 1084 and lacewood i got as a gift from my buddy gary. overall i can pick it apart but i'm happy with how it turned out. Next time though i'm going to move the tang up in relation to the blade so i can cut the handle deeper. dont mind the scrapes on the handle i rubbed up against something last time i carried it and scratched the hell outta the handle

It's not every day you see an entire lacewood tree used for a handle but, overall, you did great for using a 1x30. Bet you can do much better with the KMG.

WARNING: Do not attempt to use a knife as a guitar pick! I know it probably seemed like a good idea at first but, trust me, it can only end badly.....

I think the knife looks good, but in my opinion the handle is to bulkie, it would look better if it were thinned down more.

oh cool man! yea that handle is a bit bulky for me too but dads got BIG hands so he likes it!
seems like everybody is moving in those new editions out on 380

Pretty good, now let's see how the KMG does.
Tip - if you rotated the lacewood a bit before fitting up for the handle you would have gotten more play out of the rays that give it it's name (that is if you had enough material to do that).

Ray, actually knew an old SC Geechee swamper that picked with his worn out Case Trapper. He was very good. Never tried it myself, found I was a better listener than picker anyway.
