Been a long time....

Been a long time since I've posted over here. I've been way too busy trying to get caught up with orders and other things.

I finally built my forge and was able to use it last week to normalize and clay harden a 1095 Japanese style tanto. Still got some bugs to work out but it is a lot of fun.

I still want to get the Blue Ridge Tribe together again for another hammer-in. You're all welcome to come by my shop in Va and hammer some metal.

I've got a couple pics of the tanto on the camera but I've got to finish the polish on the blade before I can scan that in.
It didn't turn out quite like I wanted. The hamon crept down too close to the edge for my liking and I figured it was because I put too thick of a clay coat on the back of the blade. That is something I have to play around with.
Should have some more mokume to post up as well.

The end of May sounds great to me!!!

That is right before the Blade Show so I will need some form of break before that happens.

I'll bring my forge and some steel.
