First Waki -- finally got Sori
After three heat-treats, I finally got a good curve on this one. With the first heat, it went into the Parks 50 and didn't curve an millimeter. Interesting hamon, but a tad low. The second heat, I put it in the Parks, then in water and I actually got a reverse curve and low hamon. Finally, I tapped a tiny curve into the blade, then heat-treated it again. Dipped it in water for a second, then into the Parks. Got a heck of a curve, and I feel like a proud papa.

Cool deal Michael. I get so nervous doing heat treatment that you couldnt drive a needle up my butt with a jackhammer. That's just on a small blade Probably have a complete meltdown on something that big.
Good job. be sure and show us the finished wak. __________________ I am smiling |

Serious stuff Michael! That's wonderful. Again you're ahead of me. That's something that I want to make. Boy I hope mine comes out that nice.

Michael: Nicely done! That hamon looks great. I'll be waiting for further pics of that blade as you finish it up!
