threads on a rat tail

on a rat tail tang how do you put the threads on the end of the tang i want to make one like this with a piece of antler i got from a friend but have no idea how to put the threads on any help would be apprecieated

You shape the end of the tang to the proper width for the threads you want to cut, usually not larger than 1/4 - 20. The sides of the part to receive the threads would be parallel to each other, not tapered. Then, use the appropriate die to cut the threads. Small dies are available at any hardware store.

Another way is to weld a bolt or a piece of allthread to the end of the tang....

thanks for the help ray i was wondering how you would cut them in i dident know there was dies for it
