If you were going to even attempt this, I would encourage you to do it only out of non-combustible materials. Like angle iron and hardie board and refractory cement to seal the seams.

I wrap my blades in newsprint before wrapping them in hi temp stainlees foil. Newsprint contains ink which is basically carbon black (regardless of the color on the page,) When the temp. reaches 451F the newsprint burns and uses up all the oxygen within the wrap. it also re introduses a small amount of carbon thrown off the steel at high temps. The blades,regardless of type of steel 440c, ATS 34. D-2 , all come out completly scale free and ready to finish.For what its worth.
